Advising Appointment Selection Forum - Summer and Fall 2018 Semesters

Advising for the Summer and Fall 2018 Semesters will be held between Monday, March 19th and Thursday, March 29th. In accordance with policies of both the College of Business and the Department of Management and Business Administration, you must schedule an appointment to be advised in-person during this time for the upcoming semester in order to register.


I look forward to meeting with you for this purpose, and to make this work well for all of my advisees, please see the instructions below.
PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING:
  • To facilitate your advising, Dr. Wyld has provided office hours far above his normal level to accommodate your schedule for this College of Business mandatory advising session by providing a total of 68 30-minute sessions during the official advising period between Monday, March 19th and Thursday, March 29th for you and 36 other advisees assigned to him.
  • To make your official advising appointment, please post your selections (first and second choice) as a comment on this blog posting.
  • In posting your comment to claim your advising time preferences, please clearly and carefully give your name and W number and then indicate the specific time slot (date and time) you want for your mandatory advising session. Appointment times are on a first come, first served basis. Please also provide your second appointment time choice. Please carefully review the available advising times and do not claim as a first choice a time slot previously claimed by another advisee. Dr. Wyld will update these tables on a nightly basis leading up to - and during - the two-week official advising period.

  • Please do note that most advising sessions require a full 30 minutes, so do plan accordingly when selecting a date/time for our College of Business-mandated meeting. Please do not try and simply “squeeze in” your advising session in the 15 minute break between classes, as this will not be enough time to accomplish what needs to be done during an advising session. If you miss your scheduled advising appointment (or are more than 10 minutes late for your appointment time), you will need to pick a slot from those remaining after your missed appointment date/time.
  • Please follow the instructions in the advising announcement posted in Moodle and emailed to you on Monday, March 12th in preparing for your mandatory advising session, including:
  1. printing an unofficial copy of my transcript off Leonet;
  2. obtaining a copy of and reviewing my curriculum sheet prior to my advising appointment;
  3. reviewing the online schedule of classes and making a schedule that meets both your academic and personal needs;
  4. preparing a proposed schedule on the official Student Advising Form (prepare 2 separate forms for the Summer and Fall Semesters); and
  5. bringing the unofficial copy of your transcript, your curriculum sheet, and Student Advising Form(s) to the advising session.
All five tasks must be done prior to your selected advising time to ensure a productive and successful advising session. If not, then you will have to reschedule for a time slot later in the two-week mandatory advising window for the Summer and Fall 2018 Semesters.
