I watched the soccer match between Portugal and Mexico today that was in St. Petersburg, Russia. I gotta say, I am really enjoying these matches and am looking forward to the World Cup next year.
ReplyDeleteI prepared a Brazilian dish today, Quick Shrimp Moqueca which was really pretty good. Definitely not like any of the spicy seafood dishes we are used to here in South Louisiana. It is a really pretty dish too with the different colors of peppers and tomatoes in it and a base that uses coconut milk so it takes on a yellow color. Super easy to do. Takes more time chopping the vegetables than it does to cook.
ReplyDeleteA friend of mine introduced me to what she called tostones, or fried plantains. Her family picked up the recipe from Cuba and brought it home with them to Puerto Rico to make it. Here is a similar Puerto Rican version that is from online. I'll be making her version of tostones with a cuban and cajun twist to it. Hope y'all give it a shot!

I meant to post this last week but forgot. But anyway last week I ate at Byblos restaurant in Metairie. Very good but I will caution you it is a little more expensive than Albasha. Not by much but a little bit. Very good though!!
ReplyDeleteI went to the new Pho place in Hammond, and tried their Boba Tea. If you like tea then you would like this. They have a lot of different flavors.
ReplyDeleteDue to all the crazy weather, I won't be going out much this week so I will partake in some of the suggested shows.
ReplyDeleteI watched a movie on Netflix called "The Wave". It's a Norwegian film about a tsunami that hits a community and a geologist tries to save as many people a she can from it. If you like thrillers/suspense I recommend watching it.
ReplyDeleteTwo really exciting soccer matches going on right now in the FIFA Confederations Cup. Simultaneously! Thank goodness for Picture in Picture! Russia vs. Mexico and Portugal vs. New Zealand. Both from Group A. About a half hour of play left in both games if you want to tune in on Fox Sports and Fox.
