Here's Link of the Day #54
So, what do you think? Enjoy - and feel free to forward to your friends and colleagues! And remember, post your comments in response to the article at that link (http://wyldwomeninbusiness.blogspot.com/2012/06/instant-mba-if-you-are-bigger-than-your.html).
And for those of you who happen to have me for both Management 425 and 464 (either at the same time or in a prior semester), the alternate link of the day is:
Good luck - and take advantage of this extra learning...

I have been a victim of this in Atlanta. We booked our room on Hotwire.com and of course just like the article said it was all a big lie. The pictures showed a beautiful contemporary room, but when we entered it was more like being at my grandmothers house, it was horrible. Even the outside of the hotel was horrible. I am so glad that someone took the time out to make a website like oyster.com because it is definitely needed.
ReplyDeleteThis is hilarious! It is amazing how they prep photos to look more appealing to the consumer. My favorite is the beach picture. One picture has a few beautiful people in the picture and then the second picture captures what the beach really looks like and what people look like. Too funny!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is really funny! This happened to me in Cancun. Me, my boyfriend, and his family all picked out this really nice hotel (well on the internet it looked nice), and when we got there it was nothing like the picture! There was construction EVERY WHERE. We were woken up at like 7 am every morning to all kinds of construction noise. It was terrible! But i love this Link! Very humerous!
ReplyDeleteI’m not surprised with the contrast of the pictures. Most of the time ads are there to attract the consumer, so they depict the good in the best condition possible.
ReplyDeleteI have never seen an article like this before. Thankfully I've never been in a situation like this so it was very interesting to see the pictures of the contrast. It makes sense that people would stage these photos to attract people to come to their hotel. People do this with houses when trying to sell and unfortunately people get scammed by this.
ReplyDeleteI personally thinks it's very stupid to do a misleading photo because in reality once a person sees the truth of the place they will spread negative word of mouth to their friends. So once the word spreads that the advertising is fake the hotel is only hurting themselves! No one will want to go there and they will lose their business rapidly.
ReplyDeleteThis is one of the most hilarious yet smart things that I have read about. I don't know how mad I would be to go on vacation with the beautiful room booked only to get there to see it looks like Motel 6. Those websites are a smart investment to help people everywhere.
